The Seed
A successful Christian business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.
Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.
He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. "The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."
One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown.
After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.
Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.
Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.
By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.
Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however. He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow.
A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.
Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room.
When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful -- in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!
When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.
Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"
All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front.
Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!"
When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed - Jim told him the story.
The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive Officer!
His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed.
"How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.
Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.
All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!"
* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust
* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
* If you plant hard work, you will reap success
* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation
So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later...
ALWAYS, LIVE A LIFE OF INTEGRITY, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE. THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS VINDICATE YOU, AND MAKE YOU ALL THAT GOD WANTS YOU TO BE.

I don't know who wrote it unfortunately.....

A Box of gold

With a secret inside that has never been told.
This box is priceless but as I see;
The treasure inside is far more precious to me.
Today I share this treasure with thee;
It’s the treasure of friendship you’ve given me.

Contributed to our friendship . . .

A Friend should be Radical;
They should love you when you’re unlovable,
Hug you when you’re unhuggable,
And bear you when you’re unbearable.

A Friend should be Fanatical;
They should cheer when the whole world boos,
Dance when you get good news,
And cry when you cry too.

But most of all,
A Friend should be Mathematical,
They should multiply the joy,
Divide the sorrow,
Subtract the past,
And add to tomorrow,
Calculate the need deep in your heart,
And always be bigger than the sum of all their parts.

Simple Verses Real!

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn’t know your parents’ first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to hear about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend knows that it’s not a friendship until after you’ve had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Dear Lord;

Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when
the alarm rings, thank you, Lord, that I can hear.
There are many who are deaf.

Even though I keep my eyes closed against the
morning light as long as possible, thank you, Lord, that I can see.
Many are blind.

Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising,
thank you Lord, that I have the strength to rise.
There are many who are bedridden.

Even though the first hour of my day is hectic, when
socks are lost, toast is burned and tempers are short,
thank you, Lord, for my family.
There are many who are lonely.

Even though our breakfast table never looks like the pictures in
magazines and the menu is at times unbalanced,
thank you, Lord, for the food we have.
There are many who are hungry;

Even though the routine of my job often is hard, thank
you, Lord, for the opportunity to work.
There are many who have no job.

Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my
circumstances were not so modest, thank you, Lord, for life.

A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives with Beauty, Joy, and Grace.
And makes the world we live in a Better and Happier Place.

YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONOURED!

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, ”Who would like this $20 bill? ”Hands started going up. He said, ”I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this” and he proceeded to crumple the dollar bill
up.

He then asked,”Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air. ”Well,” he said, ”What if I do this?” and he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He then picked it up, and it was now all crumpled and dirty. ”Now who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air.

”My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It is still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

You are special _ Don’t ever forget it!

”Never let yesterday’s disappointments overshadow tomorrow’s dreams”

The admonition of Paul

The admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
