Something I have been wanting to try for a very time but never get around to is rubber stamping.
Today I found a very inspiring blog called: http://blogdelanine.blogspot.com.es/2008/04/eraser-stamps.html?m=1

Current work

Current work

I am looking forward to having our second room cleared of all its storage and creating a beautiful,  comfortable creative space to work in. I have been looking at some ideas on Pinterest and I don't know if that is a good or bad thing because some people have really 'WOW' space to work in. I realise they are a tiny minority though.  I will share some here. Would you be interested to see the before and after? Let me know and I will take pictures.

I enjoyed drawing this. Can you tell?

New work - The Colour Collecton

I am so thrilled to finally be posting some work from a new series I have been working on. I am enjoying so much exploring pattern and textures as well as the bright colours warming up these Southern Hemisphere winter days. Hope they brighten your day too! Feel free to share on Pinterest, just hover your cursor over the picture you want to share.
Please do not print them out. They will soon be available for sale!

Elephant Sculpture

When I was a sculpture student our lecturer took us to the Port Elizabeth Museum to meet their taxidermist. He gave me a rat skull which resembled an elephant head and trunk (perhaps more so if you are far sighted). Anyway, this is what became of it.

Plaster, wax, found object.

Vintage Reeva ceramics

Although this is vintage Reeva pottery, I did have great fun photographing it. It was made pre-digital age and I could never do it justice. More postings tomorrow!

Vintage Clay Work II

although i am thoroughly enjoying my 'compensation arts' of painting and photography, i am gradually developing a longing to squeeze, pinch, roll, smooth, mold and shape cool, wet clay in my hands.

Under the Sea

Sand between my toes, crashing waves, rock climbing, sea snails and hermit crabs, coco butter sun block, searching through rock pools, the warmth of tidal pools....oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Fair fowl

I repainted this chicken in blue to match my wedding deco and placed her on the dessert buffet table.

Incomplete book illustrations

I started doing illustrations for a children's story I created. You can't imagine how much work it is until you have started.

KISS Photo editing tutorials

Lesson 3 - Try this With Your Own Pictures

Keep it simple to begin with. Rome was not built in a day. Find a simple picture you like and try to copy it, i.e. do something similar to what they did. If you like it it should hold your interest.  It does not need to be exactly the same...if they chose blue and you want it red then make changes.....for that is the beginning of creativity.

My example:
I liked the shape of this leaf. I was thinking of my boyfriend and it looked heart shaped to me. It needed a cheery background and my scarf was just the right colour so I placed the leaf on it and took a photo.

Now rotate it....

.....and add a short text.

Lesson 2 - Crop and Rotation

No matter how wonderful a picture is if I have to crick my neck to view it I'm not interested.  Some people think it is acceptable to post these pictures to Facebook. ....I'm here to tell you that it is not.

Unacceptable
