Sacromento Coffee Shop

I'm in PE with the family for the annual holidays and today we went to Schoenmakerskop just outside of town. For me it is a bit of a love hate relationship because there is so little to do out there and not much have changed in 30 years the coffee shop there is an exception. What was once an unattractive white building has been completely transformed. (If you order the scones make sure they don't toss them in the microwave.) The owner of this charming coffee shop has created and wonderful walk at the back. I really enjoyed her creativity!! Although it is not sign posted, you should have little trouble finding it as Schoennies is very small. The Sacramento Trail has had a lot of crime recently and for the older folk this walk is ideal!! No hills, very light walking.

Inside the coffee shop.

A barrow of colour.

It is all about the presentation.

St James & Kalk Bay

These are my favourite pictures of Kalk Bay. I love Cape Town. I love taking photos of places in Cape Town and I have more to upload. I love discovering less common views of the city. I have a spot in Muizenburg I missed. Will try to get there before I leave for PE. :-)

I took a zig zag walk through St James to Kalk Bay on a splendid summer's day...and this is what I saw. Making the most of my last days in Cape Town and the little towns along the peninsular are not to be missed. Make sure you get to Simon's Town and Kommetjie if you are visiting Cape Town.

Fairy Tale Garden

Beautiful and unusual houses. I would love to go inside this one!!

Blue boats in the habour. Blue seems to be the theme colour there. No wonder I like it :-)

Shark museum!

Jacob's Ladder. Make sure you take a walk up here to Boye's Drive!!

Cape Town - Bo-Kaap

Entrance to the small cemetery on top of Signal Hill. Behind it is the habour.

Last month I had the opportunity to show my brother and his girlfriend around Cape Town and to go to some spots that I don't normally get to. I love this city and think that it presents many photo opportunities. One day I'm going to come back with a really fancy camera and just take pictures. There are still so many places that I have not yet explored that it hurts to leave but I will love where I'm going to.

Well this is the one I'm the most happy with so I am making progress with this scrapping stuff. It helps tremendously they everyone is so encouraging of course. I am all fired up now and want to do more and more instead of getting bored with it. I love the bold colours too. Yes red is one of my favourite colours. Next I want to do some vintage stuff. Well if you spend a lot of time on the blogs people seem to call stuff from the 70's vintage, whereas when I think of vintage I think of the 30's or the Victorian era. I don't know if I'm growing older without realising it or that is supposed to be just a cool sounding word for old but I still don't consider anything that happened in my lifetime to be vintage!!!!! Rude!!
Well, okay, casette players are vintage ;-)

Creativity

I am a confessed image addict!! I collect them, search for them, devour them, am completly distracted by them. I have spent hours and hours in library at college going through National Geographic and World of Interiors. I still wondering why technikon subscribed to that expensive magazine when there was no Interior Design course offered there.
Well, after a long disgrungtled absence from my one true love, I am heading back head over heals into the thick of it again. While I did not miss it at the time, I'm begining now to be startled at the thought! Cleoni Cull, my 1st year lecturer was right, if you are creative you can't live without it. I guess she meant can't REALLY live without it. You can survive but who wants to survive? I want to thrive not survive. This was a report from the art school I when to after school. It's a bit of taking myself to task like my friend Louise and Cleoni have done.
I repent!! Art please forgive me :-)

Creative Kids

My beautiful Jelly Babies, I could make dozens of pages of these girls...let that be a warning!!! I'm inspired by their creativity, and how colourful the world of children is these days.

Hiking Lion's Head, Cape Town

Glorious Cape Town
A view of Kloof neck from Lion's Head.

A city with the most stunning natural beauty!

A view of the Twelve Apostles from Lion's Head. You can't visit Cape Town without walking at least half way up this hill.

Almost at the top.

There was some light drizzle while we were half way up but I discover a cave and we were able to wait it out.

Signal Hill and Sea Point

When are we going again?
